Do you want to get better at any English Skill?
Do you feel like you read better than you speak? or do you want to learn to pronounciate words better? or maybe you have problems with understanding people speaking.
It really doesn't matter what is the thing you're struggling with, what matters is to deal with it and get better. So here I let you some recommendations that have helped me throw the years to learn new words and memorize vocabulary.
1 SURROUND YOURSELF WITH ENGLISH
What does it mean? Well is really easy. Since we aren't a native English speaker we don't communicate in English things among us aren't in English but in Spanish. So is really difficult to learn words or worst to never forget them. So a good way to avoid that situation is to "surround yourself with English" like changing your devices languages from Spanish into English, that way you will do two important things first to see the words and how they are spell and second learn new words you didn't know. For example, if you go to your cellphone settings you'll discover how some words are saying like profile, screen, accounts and some other.
Another good way is to watch everything in English, but pay attention I have some few steps before you jump into it. If you're a beginner and you try to watch a NetFlix series completely in English let me tell you you're gonna get lost because you're not familiarised with the language, so take it easy and start watching it but with Spanish subtitles that way you'll have an idea of how the thing goes. Once you get better you can try watching it with English subtitles and practice saying them out loud (don't be afraid if doesn't sound like the other person keep practising). And finally, for mayor speaker watch the movie with no subtitle.
Label everything, Tag the English word to the most common thing you use in your house so every time you see it you'll remember the word and the meaning. Listen to English songs and try to learn it with no lyric then when you feel confident enough look for the lyric and see where you were wrong.
2 Speak and Speak and SPEAK
It seems terrifying tray to speak when you barely know a few words or phrases. But you have to do it, lose your fear of being ridiculized or to laugh at. Nobody was born with the skills of a perfect English speaker, not even native. Try to find someone who speaks and throw some words that person will correct your mistakes and you'll learn two very important lessons the first one to pronounciate the word and the second one to be more sure about yourself
Even if you can't find someone who talks to you look yourself in front of the mirror and talk to yourself, write the words you can't pronounce or you don't know and look for them later.
3 READ AND LISTEN
Do you like to read? if the answer is no, well my friend you'll have to it, at least a few things like magazines or blogs your interested too, why' because how another way you'll learn how to spell? Reading improves your ability to think and you'll answer fast and you'll learn how to write too which is very important if you need to write. Listen to music, to audiobooks or something keep practising that skill so you don't lose it.
4 KEEP PRACTISING
DON'T EVER QUITE, no please, this is something that will last until your dead. KEEP DOING THIS every time YOU CAN. you'll get better.
