Maria Valentina Calderón Amaya

I am a passionate and dedicated language teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Foreign Languages Education. I have experience teaching English and Spanish through personalized one-on-one lessons for children, teenagers, and adults. My teaching approach is interactive, student-centered, and based on real-life communication, adapting each lesson to my students’ goals, interests, and learning styles to help them build confidence and enjoy the learning process.

Throughout my teaching experience, I have helped students improve their communication skills by creating a supportive and motivating learning environment where they feel comfortable making mistakes and expressing themselves. I believe that language learning should be meaningful, practical, and enjoyable, so I incorporate conversations, games, role-playing, authentic materials, and real-life situations into my lessons whenever possible. I carefully assess each student’s level, strengths, and areas for improvement to design lessons that match their individual needs and learning pace. My goal is not only to help students develop their grammar and vocabulary but also to build their confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I encourage active participation and provide constructive feedback that helps learners recognize their progress and stay motivated. Over time, my students have gained greater fluency, improved their pronunciation, and become more confident using the language in academic, professional, and everyday situations. I value patience, creativity, and clear communication, and I continuously adapt my teaching strategies to ensure every lesson is engaging and effective. Whether working with young learners or adults, I strive to create a positive classroom atmosphere that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and a genuine interest in language learning.
